I had a lot of fun playing cooperative multiplayer on Cry of Fear with my friends. It was quite an experience because it was scary, but I faced it with my friends which led to many laughter and freaking out together. I've been searching for another game that could offer a similar experience for 3-4 players and there doesn't seem to be that many that interest me. Contagion caught my eye when I saw that it was a "Cooperative Survival Horror FPS". There's one mode where objectives are randomly generated and plotted out in a map, another where you save civilians, and a PvP mode where it simulates a sort of trust and betrayal kind of mentality in an open environment. So it may look like a standard zombie shooter, but it seems to have some interesting mechanics in play for it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look nearly as scary as Cry of Fear and perhaps it's not the developers' goal; however, the game is worth looking into and I hope to see it out of Steam Early Access and become a full fledged game. GameLight - Deadly Premonition on PC

I've never heard of the game until just a few months ago when a friend was referencing the game and talked about the whistle theme and the awkward sandwich scene (shown above). It was apparently a cult hit on the Xbox 360 when it released back in 2010 that deemed it worthy of a re-release on the PS3 as a director's cut earlier this year. Deadly Premonition is an open-world, Psychological- Horror survival game that has its awkward moments like the one above that makes it a bit funny from time to time. I've heard that the game is so bad that it's good, and that's all I really know about it. The fact that it might have a chance on Steam means a possibility for a very cheap sale on it. If that's the case, I'd definitely give the game a chance. I've really gotten into horror games in the past few years. What I hate about horror "movies" is that character's in them make poor decisions. The biggest difference between a horror "movie" and horror "game" is that I had control over the decisions and can fight back in the game and still have the same scare. I'm trying to search for horror games that are fun and engaging that can still be scary. Perhaps Deadly Premonition has some of that with quirky scenes, memorable moments, and freaky enemy designs. There has to be a reason why there's a handful of gamers that enjoyed this game, right? If you're as interested as I am in trying the game out on PC, log into your Steam account and upvote it on Steam Greenlight so we can get it up on Steam ASAP so we can get a sale by the time Winter Steam Sales rolls in.

NewNews - Nintendo Wii U ZombiU Bundle out Feb. 17

Looks like there will be a special bundle on its way for the Nintendo Wii U that includes many things that will prepare players for upcoming releases. Aside from the Deluxe version of the main console that holds 32 GB worth of memory and the Wii U Pad, the bundle will include a Pro Controller, a copy of ZombiU, a free download of NintendoLand and an exclusive art book for ZombiU for $389.99.

-Free NintendoLand download
That's the console, 2 games to play, a pro controller for all other games that might need them, and a special bonus art book. It's $40 more expensive than just the Deluxe Set by itself, but $70 cheaper than buying the Deluxe set, Pro Controller, and ZombiU game together, saving enough money for another purchase of a game. The Bundle is set to release on February 17th. I wonder how long this bundle will stick around? It's definitely a consideration for me should I decide to buy a Nintendo Wii U. A little mod for ArmA 2 known as DayZ caught the attention of the gaming community and industry media as a unique Survival-Horror not found in many Zombie games. Rather than fighting swarms of zombies around every corner being able to patch up any wound and going from point-A to point-B, DayZ work around the idea of a more realistic environment where resources are scarce, other players are potential threats, and Zombies are very dangerous. As this mod started picking up more interest to the masses, the mod team decided to work on a stand alone game that takes off the limitations of the ArmA 2 Engine. However, around the same time, another team of developers had announced a game called The War Z. With great haste, they have launched the game and have made it available on steam right now.
The War Z is a Zombie Survival-horror MMO where players can play together or on an open-world map where all players can be allies or enemies. The realism comes into play with hunger/thirst trackers, scarce resources, and losing everything upon death. For Hardcore mode, you lose everything like in the DayZ mod including your characters. The game is currently -10% off for $13.49 on Steam with other options to get in-game currency to buy better items. But beware, even in-game bought items can be lost upon death and taken by other players. Also, it seems you have to wait an hour before you can respawn with your character after death. Good luck to those planning to play the game!
