NewNews - Humble Weekly Sale Focus Home Interactive

Official Site: https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
Source: Youtube Channel Humble Bundle

The new weekly bundle began today and it features games from Focus Home Interactive!  There's something almost for everyone: Simulation, strategy, Action, Role-playing, and Adventure.  Unfortunately, a lot of Focus Home Interactive's games under their name don't get very high scores from critics and players and some of them are pretty bad.  But don't let that discourage you for there is a reason why I am posting about this.  Out of the games they are offering:

-Cities XL Platinum
-Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition
-Divinity 2: Developer's Cut
-R.A.W. Realms of Ancient War
-Game of Thrones The Role-Playing Game
-Confrontation
*Wargame: European Escalation
*The Testament of Sherlock Holmes
-*Pay more than $6 for these

I have played Divinity and R.A.W.  I haven't played the other games, but I would recommend the bundle just for Divinity 2: Developer's Cut.  I never beat the game or even got far into it (boasts over 100+ hours of gameplay), but I enjoyed this game a lot.  I've played a lot of games similar to this genre: Open-World 3rd-Person Action-RPG.  The story is pretty interesting and the gameplay is unique.  I have never heard of the Divinity series before playing Divinity 2 (I played the Dragon Knight Saga and was then given Developer's Cut for free) but was very impressed with what I played.  R.A.W. wasn't as bad as the critics claim, but it wasn't exactly a memorable experience either.  It was mildly entertaining for what it was.  I got the bundle to try out Cities XL, Game of Thrones, and I've been wanting Confrontation for a while now.  Besides Divinity 2, I think Wargame: European Escalation has the highest score from critics out of the bunch.  If you're looking for a game to put a good amount of time into that provides a fun 3rd-Person Action-RPG experience, I would recommend Divinity 2 mainly because most people don't know about the game.

And if you're a fan of the original Divinity, it's not the same.  If you want something similar to the original Divinity, the developers are actually working on a new Divinity game that will be like the original.

NewNews - Steam Summer Sale 2013 & Spiderweb Software Bundle

Steam Site: http://store.steampowered.com/
Humble Bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

Steam Summer Sale 2013 has arrived!  Along with the featured sales are newly revealed games added to the Steam Trading Cards list.  Games that have cards will be labeled in the extra info section on the right side of their game page and those on the featured sale will have a little banner with the icon of a card and the word "Cards" on it.  Along with the Steam Summer Sale is a new Humble Weekly Bundle with 15 games from Spiderweb Software.  The games are practically developed by one man and his wife with some assets bought by others.  Buying all the games individually would cost $60.  Buying the collection pack on Steam would be $40.  Heck, the Steam Summer Sale brings it down to only $20.  If you get it right now, you could get those 15 games for $4.00.  Don't be fool by the old school graphics as the gameplay itself is open-ended and full of content.  I played one of his older games in the past: Exile 3, which I mentioned just recently.  Other than that, GamersGate still has their sales going on.

Apparently, you could find out how much you have invested into Steam:

Control yourself, collect those cards, and have fun!

NewNews - Last day for Humble Bundle with Android 5

Official Site: http://www.humblebundle.com/
Source: Youtube Channel humblebundle

Today's the last day for the Humble Bundle with Android 5 with only 19 hours left.  The Humble Bundle is a collection of indie games that's sold at the price of your choosing with the funds going to the developers, charity, and and to those who organized the bundle to pay for bandwidth and hosting.

This bundle includes:
-Beat Hazard Ultra
-Dynamite Jack
-Solar 2
-Nightsky HD

And these additional games are added when paid over the average price:
-Splice
-Super Hexagon
-Dungeon Defenders + All DLCs
-Crayon Physics Deluxe
-Sword & Sworcery EP

The Bundle comes with versions for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android as well as the soundtracks for all of the games.  Also, all the games should have a steam key unlock as long as you pay more than $1.  The current average price is at $6.93.  But ~$7 is an incredible deal for 9 games with each of the versions and their soundtracks.

NewNews - The Humbe THQ Bundle

Official Site: http://www.humblebundle.com/
Source: Youtube Channel humblebundle

When I saw that another Humble Bundle came out, I was wondering what new indie games were added.  To my surprise, it wasn't an indie bundle at all.  The new Humble THQ Bundle are games published by THQ who have evidently have had tough times in the past few years despite the many great titles they have released.  In this bundle includes: Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts, Company of Heroes Tales of Valor and if you pay past the average, you'll also get Saints Row The Thrid.  In addition, the soundtracks to the game will also be available upon purchase and can be downloaded in MP3 and some in FLAC.  The downside for some people this time is no compatibility for Mac and Linux and you must have a Steam account to redeem the games.  Keep in mind that purchase funds also goes to charity as well as the developers and the organizers allowing us to get these great deals.  It sounds like the next Humble Indie Bundle is coming very soon as well, so keep an eye out for that.

NewNews - Humble Indie Bundle 6

Official Site: http://www.humblebundle.com/

It's been a while since I bought a Humble Indie Bundle and it's back again.  The "pay how much you want" offer returns with 5 indie games:
-Rochard
-Shatter
-Space Pirates and Zombies (S.P.A.Z.)
-Torchlight
-Vessel

And if you beat the average payment, you'll receive and extra game: Dustforce
Source: Youtube Channel hitboxteam

I already had Shatter, SPAZ and Torchlight, but I also wanted the soundtracks to the games which I didn't have.  The true prize of the bundle was the addition of Dustforce.  It's an Action-Platformer with a whimsical art style, fancy animation and gameplay, and an incredible soundtrack that makes you feel so good.

So when you pay for the bundle, you are helping the developer, donating money to charity for children's hospitals, and giving a tip for the guys organizing these events.  Once you pay for the game, they're yours!  That doesn't mean "yours to resell and share" so don't take advantage of the DRM free downloads these kind developers have offered us.  With the bundle, you get the link to download the games, codes to link to your steam account so you can play it from there, and the soundtracks in FLAC or MP3.  HIB 6 ends in 12 days, so don't miss out!

VGCulture - The Humble Voxatron Debut

Official Site: http://www.humblebundle.com/

Source: Youtube Channel WolfireGames

Continuing the great efforts of the Humble Bundle by the indie community, The Humble Voxatron Debut offers the chance to try out the Alpha AND get every version update thereafter of Voxatron.  Voxatron is a Platform Shooter and has a unique editor which allows players to create their own content for the game.  Along with the Voxatron is The Binding of Isaac created by Team Meat of Super Meat Boy as well as Blocks That Matters.  The Binding of Isaac is an Action-Adventure RPG-ish Dungeon Crawler with some Rogue-like elements.  The player travels around the basement (dungeon) in a classic The Legend of Zelda dungeon way to collect items, defeat enemies, and fight bosses.  I've been keeping an eye out for this game ever since its announcement as I really enjoyed Super Meat Boy and was excited to see what the developers were going to do for this game.  The Binding of Isaac is a difficult game as its main "rogue-like" element is not knowing what might be on the other side of the door of each new room.  Each new enemy possesses a threat the player may not know until they're actually hit.  And as the game randomly generates rooms, items, and enemies, the game has quite the replay value.  Blocks That Matters is a 2D puzzle platformer.  If you enjoyed games such as Braid or LIMBO, then perhaps you'll like this game.  The player takes blocks from one area and utilizes them in another in order to progress through the game.  Keep in mind that the only way to get the two extra games is by paying more than the average price that others are paying (which is only $5.08 at the moment).  And as always, the money received for the Indie Humble Bundle promotions will go towards Charity (one for children's hospitals and the other for helping regulate things such as free speech in the digital age) as well as supporting our beloved indie game developers in pursuit of creating more great games.  There's only 6 days left, so if you're interested in the games, donating to charity, or both, then please click on the link on the top and participate in this humble promotion.

NewNews - Humble Indie Bundle 3

Official Site: http://www.humblebundle.com/

Source: Youtube Channel WolfireGames

If you haven't heard of the Humble Indie Bundle before, it's simply a chance for gamers to buy a pack of 5 independently developed games for any price they want and allocate the money to the developers and charity.  There are four major points to the Humble Indie Bundle pack:

-Cross Platform: Whether you use Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux, you can play on any of them.
-Pay what you want: but don't take them for free since the money goes to support developers and charities.
-Support Charity: Child's Play supports children's hospitals while EFF supports free rights and privacy regarding electronic media (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this).
-DRM Free: You can install the game as many times as you want and even redeem them through Steam or Desura (first time I've heard about Desura).

The 5 games are:
-Crayon Physics Deluxe
-Cogs
-VVVVVV
-Hammerfight
-And Yet it Moves

Follow the video above on how to grab your Humble Indie Bundle and enjoy the games!
